I came across this great project called the “Funks Chicken Coop” that uses a bunch of recycled materials as well as some brand new stuff to make an urban version of the classic chicken coop. As more and more people move to cities, projects like this absolutely become more practical. This specific design uses mostly 2x4s and plywood to construct a simple wooden chicken coop with a chicken box contained in it.

Apparently chickens like to lay eggs in a warmer compartment known as a chicken box. You should put a thermometer in here that is highly visible and also a light that can heat up the chicken box. The project was urbanized by adding metal sheets to the outside which contributed to a more modern or even futuristic look and helps the chicken coop blend in with city surroundings.
